Jonathan Broughton
Chief Executive Officer
Jonathan is a qualified actuary and spent 30 years in the London insurance market. Having sold his actuarial software company, he is excited by the new challenge at AWC Tech and reigniting his Physics degree background. With the engineering elements of the AWC so mature, Jonathan’s financial and business development experience are key to taking the AWC forward into production.
Garron Lees
Chief Operating Officer
Garron brings a wealth of offshore wind knowledge to the team. He specialises in business development for renewable energy, offshore wind, geothermal, H2, Solar, oil & gas, design engineering and project management. Prior to joining AWC Tech, Garron worked closely with the AWC team for 10 years on behalf of DORIS Engineering.
Richard Davies
Chief Technology Officer
Richard is a qualified civil and structural engineer. He worked in the offshore oil and gas industry for almost 40 years across the UK, Russia and Nigeria. Richard was a project engineer and the EMEA technical authority on structures, foundations, pipelines and naval architecture for ConocoPhillips. Richard is a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, is registered with the EU as a Euro-Engineer and is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME).
Dr Peter Broughton
Chairman
Peter is a qualified civil and structural engineer. He worked in the offshore oil and gas industry for 30 years, mainly in the North Sea with Phillips 66. Since stepping back from the oil and gas sector, Peter has been a visiting professor at both Imperial College London and the University of Oxford. Peter has also been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and is a recipient of the George Stephenson medal from the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Bharat Thakrar
Chief Financial Officer
Bharat Thakrar is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with 40 years of experience in the shipping, construction and manufacturing industries.
Kate Blackwell
Company Secretary
Kate has most recently been the Executive Assistant to the CIO of Octopus. She is currently studying a Masters in Neuroscience at the University College of London.
Otto Carlisle
Non-Executive Director
Otto is currently the Engineering Director at United Green Group. Otto is a renewable energy and cleantech specialist, with substantial experience in low carbon technology development and investment.
His focus is on Wind (on and off shore), Solar PV, Energy Storage, Fuel Cells and Electric Vehicles.
